Pada Rabu 28 Mei 2008 lalu, Subaru mengumumkan tampilan baru pada barisan WRC-nya. Hal ini diumumkan didepan 160 media massa dan anggota FIA di service park pangkalan militer Tatoi, selatan Athena.
Ini adalah mobil Subaru pertama dengan 5 pintu dan perubahan ini adalah yang pertama kalinya setelah bertahan selama 8 tahun dengan 4 pintu.
Peter Solborg sendiri merasa puas dengan penampilan mobil barunya. Setelah SS ke 3 pada Acropolis Rally mengatakan, “Well it was not bad at all this morning. Things worked well and we didn’t have any problems at all. It’s good and I am very happy so far. We’re pushing hard but it’s quite early and we’ll just do little bits as we go to try and get it just right. It’s very important for us to be at this service with no problems. The car worked very well and I am happy. I am enjoying my new car so it is really good fun.”
Sementara rekan satu timnya Chris Atkinson mengatakan,“We had no major problems this morning with the new car which is really good. We had a good clean run but ok, our road position didn’t help and we’re not quite there yet. Considering how rough stage three is, we got through there no problem and the car is running well. We’ll find more speed when the whole package is working well for sure, but at the moment we will make changes here and there to get that and just keep pushing.”
Ternyata hasil yang didapat membuktikan bahwa Peter Solborg sampai dengan stage 9 hari ini berada di posisi 3 di urutan secara keseluruhan.
